Introduction to what the new version of the product is.
This new version of our SpamTitan product is an enhancement to our email security offering you and your clients better protection, through the latest Anti-virus, anti-spam and anti-malware technology. In addition to these enhancements, you also have a new interface designed for easy administrative use for onboarding and management of your customers and domains.
To log in to the new interface, all you need is the username st_admin@ your domain name. The password for your account will not change so continue to use that account. This will bring you into your global level, like so.
Starting of the UI demonstration.
MSP LEVEL UI
Overview
The page here is your landing page once logging in as your global admin. We call this the MSP layer which is your new global admin layer where you can manage all of your customers.
1. This overview page shows breakdown in different messages presenting the amount of mails that have been processed by the SpamTitan across all your customer accounts, and that is further broken down to the message types.
All the settings on this level are your global settings, meaning anything you do here will effect all of your customer accounts. Some of these settings include your allow and block lists, Geo-blocking and Pattern filtering. Pattern Filtering will be where you can find your Content Filters will be moved over from your Old SpamTitan UI. Your Blocklists will be where you find any of your TLDs you also have configured on your Old UI instance.
To re-iterate, anything in this level will effect all your customer accounts, so anything on your global admin level on your old SpamTitan instance will be found on this level.
2. Customers can be added using the Add button, which can be seen on the overview page also.
Once the add button is selected the below window will pop up where you can add the Customer name and the description of their account.
One you click add in this window, the new window to add a administrator for this account will pop up. See details to add in here below.
- First Name: First Name of the Admin.
- Second Name: Second Name of the Admin.
- Email: Email of the admin, this cannot be the same email as the MSP admin.
- Link Lock Admin: Yes/No - Do you want to give the customer account access to use Link Lock for their domain.
- Password: This must be a least 10 characters and contain a letter and number.
Once the above is filled in, Click add and the customer account will be created.
CUSTOMER LEVEL UI
Overview Page.
Once the customer is created on the MSP level , you can send the credentials to your customer admin, you as the global admin can go into that account in 2 ways. 1 but clicking the drop down menu in the top left of the page and choosing the customer account. Or you can click the eye icon in the actions section of the customer account
Much like on the Global admin or MSP level, there is a basic overview of the mail flow with regards to messages processed, and the further breakdown of the message type.
Further down the overview page, you will have a table with all of your domains. This is where you specify what domains you would like to be filtered by the SpamTitan. Domains can only be added on the customer level, making it much more MSP friendly when onboarding customers and managing customer accounts through the layered design.
Adding a Domain.
A customer can add a domain to ensure SpamTitan relays mail for that domain but click the "Add Domain" button on the overview page.
The customer needs to fill in the required information accordingly, which is the same information required as in the older version of SpamTitan.
The customer would still need to specify the domain and the destination server. Here they also have the ability to disable RBLs and SPF checks for their domain if they wish.
Admins can make more custom settings on a a per domain level also. By clicking on the domain name itself, this will open a new window specific to the domain chosen. This layer will offer the exact same settings as the cusotmer admin layer and your global admin layer, making the newer UI more intuitive, allowing more granular settings. Any pattern filters or Allow/Blocklists that were specific to domains on the older instance can be found on this level of the instance.
Policies.
Lets come out of the domain specific level and go back to the customer admin account. You can do this by click the drop down menu on the top left hand corner and select "All Domains".
As per the old instance of SpamTitan you have policies per domain. This can be found by going to Policies < Domain Policies on the side bar menu.
To open up a policy of the domain, just click on the domain name.
A Domain policy consists of the same settings as previously.
- Spam Filtering
- Virus Filtering.
- Attachment Filtering.
- Quarantine Report.
- Archive Mail
Filtering.
If I come down to the Filtering section, here you can see the Allow and Block list. You can simply add either an email or domain to the block and allow list. The list will consist of both, labelled accordingly, as you can see here.
You can also review attachment filtering, all with the same settings as the old SpamTitan instance, the main difference here, we already have the recommended filters set in your account, which are industry standard recommendations.
We also ahve under this setting Geo-blocking, which operates the same as the old interface, using Rules to block mails coming from specific geo-locations.
finally here, you can see pattern Filtering, this will be where you can fine tune your SpamTitan filter to your satisfactory. This here is the domain level Pattern Filtering, Any content filters you had on your old interface will be present under these same tabs but on your Global Admin layer, making it effective on all your customer accounts, like the old interface.
Quarantine.
Lets take a look at the quarantine settings. These settings are the same on each layer of your new SpamTitan instance. All users and admins can check on messages in the quarantine and take appropriate actions with them. The quarantine is searchable back a certain number of days. If Archive Mail is on, anything in the quarantine would be accessible for at least 14 days.
The top part of the quarantine landing screen gives the user options to search the quarantine.
The same as the previous UI, you can apply multiple filters to narrow your search parameters in the quarantine search.
Once filters have been set, click Apply and the table below will be populated with the refined results (as shown below).
Note: Delivery Status and SpamTitan ID fields can be added by clicking on the chart icon in the far right corner above the search results table.
To view a specific message in the quarantine, just click on the message itself and the below window will open.
On the screen you will have a range of options, as you previously had to act on the Message.
History.
Finally, lets come to the history page. Again this is based n a layer solution, meaning you will have your global admin history where you can review all your customer mails, and then you will have the history on cusotmer level which will only present mails for that customer account.
Similar to the Quarantine you have a search functionality within the product to allow for narrowed results. You have a basic search and an advanced search. An advance search allows you to search based on more specific parameters.
To view a message, the user would just need to click on the entry and same the instance as within the Quarantine would come up. Also, the same options with the message as on a message in Quarantine would be available as well (Delete, Forward, Release, Allow)
Reporting.
Finally, the new interface still offers the same reporting suite with addiotnal features compared to the old interface. You would continue to have the scheduled reports as the previous SpamTitan instance. You can generate this on per cusotmer level.
The additional feature we have added is an on-demand report. You can now generate your quarantine reports with the click of a button from the UI.
This allows an admin to generate a reports on a whim, as well as receiving the same quarantine repots on a regular basis. There is an option to Archive these reports also.
Your current SpamTitan Private Cloud will stay up and accessible for a period of time after you're migrated into Skellig. This set period is the determined by the length of your quarantine retention period. Please note that History and Quarantine are not migrated over. After this period has elapsed we will power down the Private Cloud
